We are a small research group studying the drugs acting on cardiovascular system, in particular in vivo but as well in vitro conditions

Current research topics

  • Catecholamine model of acute myocardial infarction in rats and its modification by drugs with iron chelation potential
  • Effects of flavonoids on the organism in physiological and pathological conditions
  • In vitro screening of novel iron/copper chelators (comparison of chelating activity at different pHs, assessment of the abilities of these compounds to inhibit iron-catalysed Fenton chemistry leading to highly reactive oxygen species and tissue derangement)
  • Screening of novel antiplatelet drugs
  • Effects of drugs on vascular smooth muscles
