  • Functional expression of efflux drug transporters in tissues - effect on drug resistance and pharmacokinetics.
  • Transplacental pharmacokinetics of drugs – influence of drug transporters and metabolizing enzymes.
  • Drug interactions.
  • Overcoming biological barriers for cancer gene therapy; application of fluorescence microscopy for tracing plasmids.
  • Targeted delivery of macromolecules.
  • Identification of factors controlling liver uptake and hepato-biliar transfer of macromolecules.
  • Gene-delivery using cationic liposomes and polypeptides.

Teaching activities

Lecturer and examiner of pharmacology for pre(post)gradual students.
Supervisor of numerous Ph.D. and diploma thesis students at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
