Job Opening: Junior Researcher/Postdoc Researcher

Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, announces an open competition according to the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme, project No 825762 EDCMET - Metabolic effects of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals: novel testing METhods and adverse outcome pathways for the position: 

Junior Researcher/Postdoc Researcher

The position is available as a half-time job (20 hours per week) at Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology from 1st April 2019 during the project period (01 Jan 2019 – 31 Dec 2023).

The focus of work - work package: In vitro and omics methods to assess metabolic effects of EDs.

Responsibilities

  • experimental work with cellular assays,
  • experimental work in a lab (experience with both in vivo and in vitro experiments),
  • experimental work includes cell line cultivation, qRT-PCR, western blotting, confocal microscopy, metabolic assays of lipids, bile acids and glucose, hormonal effects analysis,
  • statistical data evaluation, planning experiments, working with data,
  • presentations and publishing of the results,
  • cooperation within national and international scientists.

Applicants should submit the following annexes with their application:

  • professional application letter,
  • CV including professional skills and past research experience,
  • certified copy of a diploma (master degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Toxicology, or Experimental Biology),
  • certified copy of a certificate/license to work with experimental animals valid in 2019 in the Czech Republic,
  • letters of recommendation from recognized experts in experimental hepatology or toxicology of the liver (at least two letters of recommendation are requiered and at least one from abroad),
  • list of publication (at least two research papers in international journals on hepatic metabolism are required, and at least once the candidate is the first author),
  • list of international trainees or international research experience (at least two positions are required from western European countries or from USA, Japan, Canada, or Korea),
  • other documents certifying required knowledge and expertise of nuclear receptors, endocrine disruptors, hormonal regulation and liver metabolism (conference or workshop participations), or any documents giving evidence of communication skills and English language skills.

Selection criteria for candidates:

  • master degree or equivalent in the field of application, excellent knowledge of English language (communication skills could be check by Skype conference),
  • practice or experimental work in the respective area of research (experimental and methodological skills, the quality of positions/trainees), licence to work with experimental animals valid in the Czech Republic,
  • publications in the respective area of research (quality of papers published by candidate as the first author).
