Equipment and Methods

We routinely use experimental models at the cellular, organ and intact organism levels. The laboratory has been certificated for work with small laboratory animals such as mice, rats or rabbits. We possess appropriate accreditations for work with radioactivity and GMO, respectively.

Elimination of drugs can be studied using the liver or kidney perfusion technique under open or closed circle regimens. To analyze drug binding to plasma proteins we use methods based on ultrafiltration or dialysis. We own a license for a program determined for pharmacokinetic analysis of plasma drug concentrations (SAAMII).

Our laboratory for cell studies is equipped with a laminar box, incubators and inverted microscope. Transient transfections of cells with the appropriate transporters are routinely carried out using several transfection methods. To perform measurements included in cellular studies, we can use the Accuri C6 flow cytometer and Tecan Infinite 200 M plate reader.

The equipment of laboratories and given certification enable to radiolabel of compounds with a number of radionuclides (e.g., 89Zr, 99mTc, 131I, 125I, 90Y, 177Lu). The radioactivity of the beta and gamma emitters in biological samples can be measured by liquid scintillation counting with a beta spectrometer (Tri-Carb 2900TR, PerkinElmer) and a gamma counter (2480 Wizard, PerkinElmer), respectively. The ligand binding to receptors can be measured in real-time by LigandTracer Yellow instrument (Ridgeview Instruments AB, Sweden).
