Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions
for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,
within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Commenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,
to fill research position:
FaF_VZ2_52: Researcher (Ph.D.), 0,8 FTE (80 %),
Place of work: Hradec Králové
Responsibilities:
- independent performance of the research activities in the relevant field,
- design, organization of work, planning and execution of experiments for WP2, publication of the results,
- introduction and application of in vitro methods of testing and development of new drugs, work with cell cultures,
- monitoring of interactions of tested molecules with the organism at various levels – from influencing target genes in cells to experiments on animals,
- studying the mechanism of action of new potential drugs influencing the regulation of food intake,
- interpretation of data with regard to the possibilities of extrapolation to humans,
- presentation and publication of achieved results on an international level,
- involvement in the preparation of related national and international projects,
- participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.
Profile:
- Min. 1 first-author publication is an advantage; letter of recommendation from 2 experts in the field (at least 1 from a foreign institution is an advantage); required education in the field of biomedicine, grant activity, active knowledge of English language.
- Scientific and publishing activity in the field of pathobiochemistry, biotransformation enzymes, molecular biology is an advantage.
- Previous experience in grant activity in the field of biochemistry, toxicology, molecular biology is an advantage.
- Experience with in vitro testing of small molecules in cell lines, excellent knowledge of molecular biological techniques and methodologies (especially assessment of gene expression, proteins, and enzyme activity), experience with microRNA determination in various biological matrices and verification of interaction of microRNA with target gene, work with in vivo models of liver diseases.
- Orientation in the field of biotransformation or antioxidant enzymes and liver diseases is an advantage.
- Previous experience with various experimental models (especially 2D and 3D cell cultures, primary cell cultures, tissue slices, in vivo models) is an advantage.

The estimated monthly wage: 45 000 CZK (1,0 FTE)
The start of work: 1 December 2024, or it can be negotiated
Type of employment contract: for 1-3 years, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.
Employment: part-time (0.8 FTE).
