An excursion in the family brewery Rampušák in Dobruška

Pivovar Dobruška

The brewery offers an excursion for groups of visitors – a chance to see the brewery's production area: the malt house in its original handicraft form as well as the brewery operation area with common places for the beer production, such as brewhouse, fermentation room or cellar.

There is a restaurant in which the degustation of local beer would be possible. There is also possibility of using two bowling alleys.

The brewery is about 20 minutes by bus from our accommodation.

Hiking trip to Velká Deštná mountain and lookout tower

Option 2:
From the Šerlich: A very popular route is along the ridge from Šerlich, which is located not far from the famous Masaryk cottage. Route length: 3.5 km (one way), elevation gain: 139 m.

Visiting the Nové Město nad Metují Castle
- PEARL OF THE KLADSKO BORDERLAND
(Due to the low interest, trip to the Nové Město nad Metují Castle is cancelled !!!)

Zámek Nové Město

Explore the castle and travel from the attic to the cellar!
(adults 140 CZK, students 90CZK)

Set off to discover the technical conveniences of the attic then walk the stairs down to the historical kitchen and finally look through the mysterious cellar. You will not be overloaded with data but will be given a chance to interact and find out a lot of interesting information about this special castle area. Working on the supplied worksheet, you may complete a small crossword or by hammering a piece of wood in the attic you may leave your mark the same way as the carpenters used to do.

In their lovely kitchen, where in the past they once prepared the menu for the first Czechoslovak president Thomas Garrigue Masaryk, you can try to smell and identify the ingredients used for cooking 100 years ago and find more about the recipes of the time.

Additional things to explore: Velorex vehicles, Máselnice tower, castle gardens - dwarf statues (Matyáš Bernard Braun), wooden bridge (Dušan Jurkovič), castle bar, old town square. There are plenty of views within a kilometre radius of the castle.

The castle is about 25 minutes by bus from our accommodation.
