Research focus

• synthesis of symmetrical and asymmetrical azaphthalocyanines (AzaPc), the aza-analogues of phthalocyanines
• study of spectral, photophysical, photochemical and electrochemical properties of AzaPc
• development of new AzaPc usable as photosensitizers in photodynamic therapy or as fluorescence sensors

Education

• 2015: habilitation in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, Charles University in Prague (Docent degree, equiv. Assoc. Prof.), habilitation thesis: The study of structural and photophysical aspects of azaphthalocyanines with the focus on their sensoric properties.
• 2007-2011 PhD: Pharmaceutical chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove. Thesis: Synthesis and study of properties of aza-analogues of phthalocyanines.
• 2002-2007 graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove (Magister degree, equiv. M.Sc.), Thesis: Synthesis of unsymmetrical derivates of azaphthalocyanines I.

• 2022 - Young Investigator Award granted by the Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines
• 2012 - Prize of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for the best students and graduates
• 2012- the winner of the prestigious competition "Prix de Sanofi 2012" arranged by French Embassy in the Czech Republic and Jean-Marie Lehn (laureate of Nobel Prize)
• 2012 - Josef Hlavka Award for the Best Students and Graduates
• 2012 - Prize of the Mayor of Hradec Králové
• 2006 - Prize of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyne
• 2007 - Excellence award from Medochemie
