NanoFormulation Research Group

The NanoFormulation Research Group focuses its research on the study of pharmaceutical excipients, their supramolecular structures and on the preformulation characteristics that allow the development of drug delivery nanostructural carriers for proven drugs and other biologically active substances.

In this context the Group deals with permeability of biological membranes (dermal, pulmonary, rectal, sublingual) well available and usable for administration of active pharmaceutical substances.

At present period, we pay special attention to

  • specification of the variables of nanoformulation and design of polymeric nanofiber membranes as carriers of active ingredients for different routes of administration
  • formulation and evaluation of nanocorpuscular systems and their pharmaceutical characterization, including penetration parameters across biological barriers
