ONGOING RESEARCH
A member of Placenta in Health and Disease Group (Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové). For detailed information, please visit our web site.
We focus on research of:
- the role of nucleoside transporters, nucleosides, and adenosine receptors for the growth of the trophoblast layer
- adenosine in immune response of the trophoblast layer to pathogenic stimulus
- antiviral drugs and caffeine interference with adenosine homeostasis in the placenta
- drug-drug interactions on intestinal drug transporters and biotransformation enzymes and their effects on intestinal drug absorption with special focus on antiviral drugs
RECENT/PAST RESEARCH AREAS
- role of ABC and SLC transporters in placental kinetics of antiviral drugs
- identification of prognostic markers of disease progress in patients with resected pancreatic cancer treated with gemcitabine
- identification of virulence factors in Francisella tularensis
- nuclear receptor-mediated transcriptional regulation of ABCB1 and CYP3A4
- interactions of antiepileptic drugs with breast cancer resistance protein
- tryptophan and serotonin handling in the placenta; role in the fetal programming
