On September 17–19th, we participated actively at the 53rd Conference „Synthesis and Analysis of Drugs“ (SAL2025) organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Masaryk University, in picturesque village of Kurdějov, located in South Moravia. Prof. PharmDr. Martin Doležal, Ph.D. was member of the scientific committe and served as the chair-person. PharmDr. Marta Kučerová, Ph.D. gave a short talk entitled „Boron in Drug Design“ and the 1st year Ph.D. students Francesco Biddoccu, Mgr. Joe Fahim Rahi, and Mgr. Adam Anthony Needle presented their results in poster session. Many congratulations goes to Francesco Biddoccu who won the poster prize with his study „Rational design and in-silico studies of novel potential feline McDonough sarcoma-like tyrosinase kinase 3 inhibitors – isosteric approach in structure-based drug discovery“. We all enjoyed to celebrate this success with good wine. In addition, Mgr. Adam Anthony Needle experienced to be co-chair for the first time.

Many congratulations to our diploma student Monika Berková (4th year of Pharmacy study, 2nd person from left in the pictures) on her success at the Students' Scientific Conference (April, 4th–5th, 2024, Hradec Králové). She gave the 3rd best-evaluated presentation in Med. Chem. section with the title: „Synthesis of flutamide-like boronic acids and their potential in prostate cancer treatment.“

| On Thursday, 4 May 2023, the international round of the XXI Student Scientific Conference took place at the headquarters of Zentiva in Prague. In the Chemistry section, the 1st place was taken by our diploma-student Barbora Koutníková with her lecture on SYNTHESIS OF COUMARIN BASED FLUOROPHORE PROBES (supervisors prof. dr. Janez Ilaš, mag. pharm., prof. PharmDr. Martin Doležal, Ph.D.). Dean Jaroslav Roh congratulated her in front of the Scientific Council of the Faculty on July 13th. |

From 14 to 16 June 2023, Prof. M. Doležal, Dr. M. Kučerová and Dr. P. Šlechta made a trip to the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen (Charles University) and, at the same time, actively participated in the 71st Czech-Slovak Pharmacological Days. They were warmly welcomed by the scientific group of Prof. R. Kučera, as well as good food and beer. Marta K. gave a nice lecture on the topic of covalent drugs, and we delivered samples of our compounds for biological testing.
