Manuscript created in cooperation with our Austrian colleagues got accepted

Research work conducted in collaboration with the team of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Claudia Gundacker from Medical University of Vienna, colleagues from Medical University of Graz and medical institutes based in Austria resulted in a publication titled "Resistance-associated Protein (MRP)1 (ABCC1) suggest a protective role against methyl mercury-induced oxidative stress in the human placenta". Manuscript was accepted in Archives of Toxicology journal with IF 5.059. Simona Dudičová is joining the team

Diploma student Simona Dudičová has successfully finished! After writing up all the data she obtained during her stay at the department, she nicely presented her thesis and successfully defended. What makes us very excited is that she has decided to stay with us and continue in her research as a doctoral student! 


Lenka Ťupová successfully finished her doctoral studies 

 At the end of September, our group member Lenka Ťupová has finished her PhD studies when she         presented the data she gathered throughout her whole PhD.

 She also tackled all the questions from the audience and now she is proudly holding a doctoral degree.

 Also, we are delighted that Lenka decided to stay with us at the faculty and continue as a postdoc.

 

 

 


Manuscript got accepted

Thanks to the fruitful and very valued collaboration with the team of Prof. Christian Wadsack from Medical University of Graz (Austria) and Dr. Csilla Özvegy-Laczka from Membrane Protein Research Group at Institute of Enzymology (Budapest, Hungary), we managed to get our joint paper out. Our work on “Interplay of drug transporters P-glycoprotein (MDR1), MRP1, OATP1A2 and OATP1B3 in passage of maraviroc across human placenta” got accepted by Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy journal with an impact factor of 4.545. Aleš Šorf wins 2nd place in the prestige Sanofi prize in Pharmacy

Every year Sanofi and the French Embassy in the Czech Republic organize a competition for the “Sanofi prize” to award the most auspicious PhD researchers in the field of biomedicine and pharmaceutics. Due to unpleasant coronavirus-related situation Aleš had to present his work online. Nevertheless, we are pleased to say that Aleš placed 2nd out of all 66 participants! Besides the financial reward he was also awarded with an internship in France! Congratulations and let’s just hope the current epidemiological situation will get better and allow him to go for his stay ASAP!

Our paper on AML and possible role of CDK4/6 inhibitors in drug resistance got published

Great news! Our paper done in collaboration with the Department of Biochemical Sciences entitled “Targeting Pharmacokinetic Drug Resistance in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cells with CDK4/6 Inhibitors” got accepted in Cancers with an impact factor of 6.162. Check the article here!

Diploma student Jakub Poráč successfully defended his thesis

After months and months spent in the lab, Jakub Poráč presented all the data he gathered and successfully defended his diploma thesis on “Effect of CDK and FLT3 inhibitors on activity of ABC efflux transporters in vitro, relation of multidrug resistance”. What is more, he passed the state exams too and thereby finished his master’s degree in pharmacy. Congratulations!


GAUK project got accepted for funding

Every year The Charles University Grant Agency (GAUK) is organizing a grant competition for doctoral students of Charles University. Half a year went by since we submitted our grant application and now, we are thrilled that it got accepted for funding! The project titled “Evaluation of ABC transporters in acute myeloid leukemia and their interaction with novel FLT3 inhibitors as a potential promising therapeutic strategy” will run for 3 years with Simona Suchá as a principal researcher.


Fahda Ahmed is joining our team

A new PhD student from Saudi Arabia, Fahda Ahmed, has already joined our research group. After a long process of getting the visa acceptance Fahda is finally in Czech Republic ready to join the lab.


Lenka Ťupová got awarded by Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship

Our doctoral student Lenka, being an amazing researcher and mother that she is, applied for a grant from Martina Roeselová endowment fund and got awarded for one year of financial support! Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship provides support to young scientists with children in Czech Republic who are trying to pursue their scientific career and parenthood at the same time.
